El Paso Baptist Clinic could not do all it does for the El Paso community without our amazing volunteers. Today, we’d like to introduce you to one of those volunteers, Kay Lee Kennedy. Kay Lee is a registered dietician and a veteran of the US Navy, where she served as a Medical Service Corps officer as a clinical dietician, before starting work here in El Paso.

Volunteering has always been a part of Kay Lee’s life. She volunteered at the North Texas Food Bank for several years before Dr. Palatox recruited her to come join the El Paso Baptist Clinic team as one of our dieticians. She’s been volunteering with us since 2013, and we’re happy to have her as part of our volunteer medical community, bringing her expertise with diet to help our patients improve their health and their lives.

Kay Lee’s favorite part about volunteering with us is the positive effects that she gets to see in her patients. She loves it “when a patient follows up with me and reports success with their new diet, whether that’s lowered blood pressure or cholesterol, or weight loss, and tells me they now understand how nutrition affects their health.” Being able to feel like she makes a tangible difference in her patients’ lives is what inspires Kay Lee to keep volunteering.

We’re nothing without the amazing compassion and skill of our volunteers, and we’re so grateful to have so much support from our local community. Our volunteers are what make our clinic possible.
